Forbidden Kingdom is a well-known bass music festival in the United States, and this year we had the opportunity to go behind the scenes, joining the crew at Hypnotic Productions to get a closer look at how laser production comes together at an event like this.
Behind the Scenes with Hypnotic Productions
We want to start by giving a sincere thank you to Hypnotic Productions for bringing us out to Forbidden Kingdom 2026 and welcoming us behind the scenes as part of their crew. It was genuinely appreciated, and it gave us a great opportunity to see their team in action.
Hypnotic Productions handled the laser-related production at the event, and it was great to watch their team work through the process — from setup to showtime.
About Hypnotic Productions
Based out of South Florida, Hypnotic Productions is a full-service creative production company offering sound, lighting, laser shows, LED walls, special effects, stage equipment, truss and rigging, and more. They're licensed and certified laser show specialists, and their portfolio spans a wide range of events, from large-scale festivals like Ultra Music Festival, Sunset Music Festival, and Life in Color, to serving as the in-house production company for Club Cinema, a 3,000+ person venue in South Florida.
Their team brings a depth of experience to every production, and their work at Forbidden Kingdom 2026 was a solid reflection of that.
The Technology Powering the Show
The laser setup was run using Pangolin's BEYOND software, which handled all programming and real-time playback throughout the event.
On the hardware side, a combination of KVANT lasers was used depending on the stage:
- KVANT Spectrum 25 — Delivering tight, high-speed beam work with exceptional color performance
- KVANT Spectrum 30 — Providing additional output power for larger stage environments
- KVANT Clubmax 40 — Bringing raw power and presence to the stages requiring maximum impact
Together, BEYOND and the KVANT systems gave Hypnotic Productions the flexibility to match the laser setup to each stage's specific needs.
