Illenium Odyssey at The Sphere 2026

Illenium Odyssey at The Sphere 2026

Illenium's Odyssey is more than a concert. It's a fully immersive production where music, visuals, lighting, and lasers work together to tell a story. For the show's performances at The Sphere Las Vegas, lasers played a leading role in shaping that experience, creating powerful moments that evolved alongside every song.

Behind the Lasers

Productions at this level are the result of months of planning, programming, and collaboration.

Leading the laser production was the talented Bill Loftus, Illenium's Laser Director, who has worked alongside the artist for the past three years. From system design and fixture layout to zoning, programming, and live show operation, Loftus oversaw every aspect of the laser production, ensuring it integrated seamlessly with the lighting, video, and overall creative vision behind Odyssey.

Programming for One of the Most Unique Venues

Designing a laser show for The Sphere presents challenges unlike those found in traditional arenas or stadiums.

With dozens of projectors spread throughout the venue and a massive immersive LED display surrounding the audience, every laser had to be carefully zoned to ensure the beams interacted perfectly with the screen while remaining symmetrical from every viewing angle.

The countless hours spent refining those zones resulted in seamless transitions between the lasers and Sphere's visuals, creating moments where the technology virtually disappeared and the audience experienced a single unified production.

Unity Elite PRO Lasers Take Center Stage

Serving as the primary laser fixtures throughout the show, the Unity Elite PRO 60W systems occupied the most prominent positions across the front of the stage.

These projectors delivered many of the show's defining beam looks, producing intense aerial effects, wide fan arrays, audience sweeps, and architectural beam structures that remained vibrant even against Sphere's incredibly bright LED display.

Supporting the Elite PRO systems were 16 KVANT Atom 58W projectors, positioned to interact directly with the venue's immersive screen, expanding the visual canvas far beyond the stage itself.

To complete the design, four additional projectors were installed on the lower mezzanine, providing beam termination that helped create depth and continuity throughout the venue.

Together, the combination of laser systems produced a layered visual experience that surrounded the audience while maintaining perfect balance across the performance space.

Coordinating a laser system of this scale requires software capable of managing dozens of projectors while maintaining frame accurate synchronization. The entire production was controlled using Pangolin BEYOND, allowing the laser team to program complex cue sequences, manage the zoning required throughout Sphere, and synchronize every laser effect with the show's music and visuals.
