When LIV Golf Tour returns to Adelaide, it doesn’t just arrive...it takes over.
For its fourth year in South Australia, LIV Golf Adelaide once again transformed the city into a high-energy celebration of sport, music and spectacle. While the tournament action unfolds in the suburbs, the event’s unmistakable party atmosphere extends deep into the Adelaide CBD, creating a vibrant city-wide experience in the lead-up and throughout the four tournament days.
The brief to Novatech Creative Event Technology was ambitious: deliver a full city takeover using lighting or projection technology to enhance and elevate traditional branding elements such as flags, billboards, footpath decals and other city-wide advertising. Previous activations had incorporated lighting and projection, but this time, the call was for something bigger, bolder and brighter. Something that matched the scale and energy of LIV Golf Adelaide.
The answer? A powerful network of laser systems deployed across the city skyline.

Laser Technology Used

To achieve the bold visual impact required for a city-wide takeover, Novatech deployed one BeamBrush 35 and seven Clubmax 18 laser systems, all controlled via Pangolin Beyond software. Installed across multiple projection sites throughout Adelaide, the systems mapped onto prominent buildings and architectural landmarks over a 10-day activation period.
The scale of the buildings and the projection distances demanded equipment that was exceptionally bright, robust and capable of delivering crisp, clean lines with vivid, brand-accurate colors. The BeamBrush 35 provided the punch and clarity required for large-scale architectural projections, while the Clubmax 18 units offered flexibility and reliable output across multiple city locations. Beyond software enabled precise programming, synchronization and content control across all sites, ensuring consistent branding and seamless execution throughout the CBD.
Adelaide’s summer conditions added another layer of complexity. While some units were installed under cover, others remained fully exposed for the duration of the activation, experiencing temperatures exceeding 42°C, cooler nights, dust and even rain. Despite these demanding conditions, all lasers performed faultlessly. Brightness, clarity and alignment remained consistent throughout the 10 days, proving both the durability of the systems and the strength of the deployment strategy.
